Today during Nintendo’s Pokémon Direct they revealed the next generation of the Pokémon series of games, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The new games are the first set of Pokémon games to appear on a home consoles as compared to a handheld system. This is really exciting to me since I love playing my Switch at home on my tv, but if I want to play it on the go still like a normal main series game, I can. A problem I had with my PS4 and Kingdom Hearts 3 that about drove me insane since I couldn’t.
The new games are the newest generation to be added to the universe, generation 8. With this new generation naturally means a new region, called Galar, and of course a wide range of new pokémon and starters! The starters this time will be known as Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. We all know that Sobble is the best though and there is no denying it.
The game will be featuring 3D cel-shaded graphics that looked actually beautiful and is set to release sometime this fall. With a new Animal Crossing coming out, along with a new generation of Pokémon games, this looks to be an awesome year for the Switch so far with these and everything else they announced and the recent Nintendo Direct a few weeks ago.
